Massimo Oddo has signed a contract extension with Milan, the club said in an official statement on Wednesday.

The statement reads:

"A.C Milan communicates to have extended the contract of Massimo Oddo until June 30, 2012."

Oddo was contracted to Milan until 2011, but the club have moved to secure his services beyond that.

Meanwhile Il Corriere dello Sport claims Silvio Berlusconi has not given up on signing a top striker for his side.

His mandate to see spectacular attacking football next season has led to reports that he is lining up a move for Sevilla's Luis Fabiano, despite the hitman claiming he never said he wanted to join Milan.

The Rossoneri are expected to begin negotiations with the Spanish club over the possibility of landing the Brazilian hitman.

There are alternatives, though, should Sevilla obstruct a transfer. Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios has come into view. The Paraguayan international is valued at €10 million and he has a four-year-contract with the German outfit.

Empoli's Eder is also on the horizon. He was a revelation in Serie B last term, hitting 27 goals en-route to fame. The Tuscan side want €8m, but Milan could offer a €5m co-ownership proposal.
